This update on the five killed in August Town, St Andrew, Jamaica W.I. as reported in Vision Newspaper yesterday, March 11, 2021, as members of the Berry Gang. The alleged criminals killed in that early morning confrontations by the joint security forces had a long rap sheet and some of the dead alleged hoodlums’ were for a long time on the police radar or on their most wanted list. In short the police claim they have a solid record of them as violence producers, based on stored police data.
We await the independent report from INDECOM on this most recent August Town joint security forces operation. We have no evidence of wrong doing by the police. Evidence of extra-judicial killings have been reported by INDECOM in their quarterly reports. Sixty percent of victims in police killings have been found to be unharmed.
