Update: One Canadian National Free … Four Charged… after drug bust in Jamaica Airport

Jamaica_Constabulary_Force_emblemFollowing interviews in the presence of their lawyers into drug charges, four Canadian Nationals were charged and one was freed.

Bail

The justice system works in Jamaica. Jail is not nice in Jamaica … sleeping can be rough but station bail is sometimes granted if flight risk is considered low.

Guns

Drugs are coupled with guns and we have a challenge to keep gun crimes down. There is a lucrative “Drug for Gun” trade in Jamaica. When guns are turned on tourists … the respective governments issue travel advisories which do not give the full picture.

Major crimes are down in Jamaica, but gun crimes are fluctuating. If we can reduce the level of gun crimes we will be a safer society. Do help us if you can.

Tourism is a great income earner for Jamaica, so we have to be tough to protect our world class destination.
