US-Based Record Producer Heather Virgo Celebrates Birthday with a Global Outpouring of Well Wishes
Kingston, Jamaica – Heather Virgo, the renowned US-based record producer and boss of Hit Melody Records, is still basking in the joy of her recent birthday celebration. The multi-talented producer, known for her two established riddims, was showered with an impressive array of birthday wishes from fans and celebrities worldwide on Friday, August 9, 2024.
The celebrations began hours before Virgo’s birthday officially started, thanks to the time difference. “The surprise started before the clock ticked to a new day, August 9, 2024,” Heather Virgo shared. “It began with my many fans in the UK, which, as you know, is five hours ahead of my time in the United States. So, this birthday rocket was first launched by the Europeans, with messages coming in from countries including Italy and Germany.”
Virgo’s phone was abuzz with activity as fans from over ten countries flooded her social media with messages. “They posted on TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook—just about every social media platform one could think of,” she said. “I was glued to my phone for hours, overwhelmed by the love and support.”
Among the many messages of affection, Virgo received greetings from Africa, including Zambia and Nigeria, where her riddims have gained significant popularity. The Caribbean fans also continued their unwavering support.
One standout comment came from Ian Sweetness, who recently won Dancehall Thursdays Song of the Year. He posted a classic track from Virgo’s Edition riddim, a gesture that particularly touched the producer. “I am thanking everyone who showed me such great generosity on my birthday,” Virgo expressed. “The artistes on my two riddims—‘Ionie’ with 14 songs and ‘Edition’ with eight tracks—have been incredibly supportive.”
The Edition riddim has been available since 2021, while Ionie was released in May 2024. Virgo’s heartfelt appreciation extends to all her fans and supporters who made her birthday a memorable occasion.
