Overnight news that Barbados native Jason Holder has been unceremoniously removed as West Indies Cricket Captain is not surprising to us. He was the youngest person so selected to this top position as Captain of West Indies Cricket.  Holder was among the youngest persons selected to not only West Indies Cricket, but the top 15 youngest such individuals worldwide. He is well spoken but had issues with the regional leadership.  this is not good for the game.  All must live, and work harmoniously for required success.

We have not been accorded the reason or reasons for Jason Holder’s removal.  Holder’s service has been retained on the team.

it is no secret that there has been no love lost between Holder and president Skerrett.

New Captain

Craig Braithwaite is the new Captain of West Indies Cricket, he is also a Barbados  national like Holder whom he has replaced. Interesting times are ahead.  No one is indispensable. The right attitude and performance are key ingredients for success in any sporting endeavour, Cricket is no exception.

Commentary

The West Indies team has been doing well since Dave Cameron was not reelected.  The new team of Skerrett et al have done well.  They are being challenged on the 28th of March 2021 at their upcoming AGM, by one Hope and his wannabees.  We hope they fail in their bid.  They have prepared an attractive manifesto. We do not need any change at the helm of West Indies cricket at this time.
