Western Jamaica Pastor Jason Rose’s Bail Revoked Further Charges Laid in Rape Case

June 17, 2021 | Hopeton O’Connor-Dennie |

Pastor Jason Rose the Western Jamaica Pastor, of the New Life Apostolic church has found himself in further trouble with the law.  The presiding Judge had sharp words of rebuke for the accused pastor when he appeared in court before her. As a result Judge Ashley has revoked the bail formerly extended to Pastor Jason Rose 39 who resides at the Church’s property on Barnett Street in Montego Bay.

Perverted The Course Of Justice

The Judge has stated that accused has made contact with the 15 year old rape victim which is a violation of his bail condition.  He has therefore been slapped with an additional charge of perverting the course of justice and his bail has been revoked.

Wife and Child’s Mother Charged

You will recall that Vision Newspaper reported that the 15 year old girl, the alleged rape victim’s mother who cannot be identified to protect the victim’s identity,  was charged along with  Pastor Rose’s wife,  for allegedly attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Police Reports

The police reported that the two women who enjoy a close relationship had conspired with each other to pressure the rape victim to change her statement.  They went along with the victim to the Freeport Police Station to execute their plot. The police became suspicious and took the rape victim to the child protection representative. An interview was held after which the two women were charged for perverting the course of justice.

Commentary

It is appalling that a mother and her associates have allegedly been conspiring to pervert the course of justice.  If that report is accurate, we are compelled to ask the question:

“How much lower can we go?

We would expect a mother to be protecting her daughter from all harm.  She is a most uncaring mother. Let the law have its course mother. Your daughter was allegedly sexually violated.  Support her at this very stressful juncture. Do not plot with anyone to pervert the course of justice. The accused pastor should have known better. We hope he is not guilty?

It should be noted that he is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.  All accused persons are so entitled to that courtesy.

It is all so sad. So many lives are being destroyed in this case.
