Toronto, ON – Today, AFROWAVETO, Toronto’s celebrated Black multi-genre music presenter and incubator announces its much anticipated Winterwave concert showcase lineup headlined by Canadian pop/rock icon Fefe Dobson. This concert takes place on Saturday March 4th at the legendary El Mocambo live music venue in downtown Toronto and boasts a stellar lineup of Toronto’s rising rap, dancehall, R&B, and afrobeat stars of today and tomorrow including; Omega Mighty, Everything OShauN, Trueace, and Bosaboi. Founded in 2019, AFROWAVETO has presented a wide range of concerts in Toronto featuring everyone from Grammy Award-winning dancehall artist Sean Paul, all the way over to 2022 JUNO Award-nominated artists Zenesoul (Traditional R&B / Soul) and Tafari Anthony (Adult Contemporary).

Between AFROWAVETO’s buzzworthy music festival productions, year-round concert series presentations, and virtual music business workshop series, the fast-rising music organization and collective is here to intentionally champion a more diverse and inclusive Black/urban music scene in Toronto, while bridging the gap between more obvious Black music forms (rap, R&B) and less recognized genres (Afrobeats, dancehall).

Fefe Dobson – Nashville-based JUNO Award-nominated, multi-platinum selling recording artist Fefe Dobson boasts numerous hit radio singles, has penned hit songs for the biggest names in pop music including Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Jordin Sparks, and has most recently teamed up with legendary songwriter and producer Linda Perry to record new original music for a forthcoming album release.

Omega Mighty – Eclectic singer-songwriter and dancer who seamlessly fuses elements of R&B, dancehall, afrobeats, and trap. Omega has choreographed the Grey Cup halftime performance for JUNO-winners  Arkells and live stage performances for her Polaris Music Prize award-winning sister Haviah Mighty.

EverythingOshauN – Born to immigrant parents of Nigerian and Jamaican descent, his music has been featured in Complex and Exclaim Magazine and played at Toronto Raptors games. OshauN has created original music featured in Doordash’s official documentary and in a TIFF film and hit Starz television series.

Trueace – Born in Kingston, Jamaica and bred in Toronto, Trueace’s reggae and dancehall sounds are starting to gain traction in the music industry. He gets heavy rotation in the streets and on the radio.

Bosaboi – Moving to Nigeria in his early teens from Toronto allowed him to properly engage and include his African culture into his music. Returning back to Toronto and having an interest in hip hop while developing a new found love for afrobeats, Bosaboi found his identity in music and is intent on fusing the two genres.
