Poem: Christmas Cheer
December 23, 2021 | By Hopeton O’Connor Dennie |
Christmas is that time of the year …
When we banish Scrooge ensuring he is not near . .
When we reach out to our neighbour
And spread love in keeping with the mandate of our Loving Saviour …
Let us ever celebrate ..
Banish hate …
To each other lovingly relate
Give a gift of love …
And behave as if we are a nation as loving as a dove
After all God is love …
Spread some cheer …
Here, there and everywhere …
Have a special wish …
And even to the less fortunate … do give a gift …
Whether The Christ-Child was born in June or December …?
That fact is immaterial to consider …
It is the fact that He was born …
Which like us humans was the norm ….
It was a most humble beginning …
For the Christ-Child to born in …
Alas! In Winter … in a lowly stable …?
May indeed be a fable …
Amen!
