R&B Songbird Chanté Moore Headlines the Signature Gala Event of Black History Month

(Toronto, ON) – A black ribbon cutting ceremony opened the eXperience RBC Black Diamond Ball Workshop Series and Black Business Marketplace today at the eXperience RBC at Sherway Gardens and included the much-anticipated announcement that R&B songstress Chanté Moore will be this year’s headline artist at the 8th annual Black Diamond Ball on Saturday February 25th, 2023 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

“We also announced the theme this morning, which will be ‘A Celebration of Kings and Queens,’ shared Black Diamond Ball Founder Shawn Cuffie, who is also the VP of Operations for ArtXPeriential Projects, producers of the Ball. “We are celebrating the royalty of the African roots of our Black communities. We are back in-person and this will be a night of spectacular entertainment, culture and a showcase of our Black artists and businesses.”

Starting tonight, the eXperience RBC Black Diamond Ball Workshop Series and Black Business Marketplace begins, and runs throughout February at 6:30pm on the following dates:

February 2nd – Small Business Services and Mortgages Today hosted by RBC

February 9th – The Housing Market Masterclass hosted by M5V Development

February 9th – Mental Health Workshop hosted by Dr. Natasha Williams

February 23rd – Artist, Music and Film Workshop

The workshops will be virtual and in-person at the eXperience RBC space in Sherway Gardens, which will host vendors from the Black business community who will have their products available for purchase.

“The Black Diamond Ball is one of Black History Month’s marquee events each year,” said Charmaine Williams, Associate Minister of Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity. “I’m delighted to be here for the opening of the Workshop Series and Black Business Marketplace, which play an important role in supporting Black artists and entrepreneurs, and promoting Black-owned businesses. This is a great opportunity to advance and showcase the talent and work of the Black community.”

The 8th annual Black Diamond Ball has been virtual and televised for the last two years due to the pandemic. Returning hosts are TV reality show star Auntie Jillian Danford and R&B singer Sean Jones and it will be recorded live to tape to air nationally on Citytv on Sunday, March 5 at 5 p.m. ET/PT on Citytv and Citytv.com and throughout the month of March on Rogers tv stations.

Scheduled appearances include: headliner Chanté Moore, popular R&B group Soul Sessions, Black Diamond Ball host Sean Jones, Afrobeats artist Jon Ogah, Opera singer Christina Smith featuring L’uomo Strano, Dr. Natasha Williams and Zenesole X Thehonestguy.

The Black Carpet begins at 5:30pm and will be hosted by Nia Faith Betty and Justice Faith Betty, founders of Révolutionnaire.
