SAINT LUCIA IS WORLD’S LEADING HONEYMOON DESTINATION YET AGAIN
2019 World Travel Award is record 11th title for Saint Lucia
(TORONTO, ON – December 11th, 2019) – The results are in and destination Saint Lucia has been named as winner of the prestigious title of World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination by the World Travel Awards for a record 11th time.
The announcement of the highly coveted industry accolade was made on November 28 that the 26th Annual Gala Ceremony of the World Travel Awards in Oman. Saint Lucia won amidst a crowded group of renowned honeymoon hotspots from around the world. It is an island where the greatest love stories unfold, and where romance, weddings and honeymoons continue to be a major niche market.
In receiving the award, Chairman of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), Mr. Nicholas John, noted the island’s specific brand focus, “that places emphasis on its alluring beauty, romantic appeal, diverse culture, verdant landscapes, delightful people and the infectious and inspiring love for the island.”
To help celebrate the momentous win, the SLTA launched an interactive social media competition @TravelSaintLucia with a prize of a 5-night stay for two at Sandals Grande St. Lucia Spa & Beach Resort.
