Uptempo rastafarian record producer, Ricardo “Tinue” Brown continues to throw his weight behind Shabba Ranks views to, “let the music of young entertainers play.”

Shabba Ranks – a two-time Grammy winner, in a recent interview on Bridge 99. Fm, repeatedly called on Jamaicans to support the music of the younger generation, as this is part of their talent.

The hardcore dancehall deejay, known for such songs as, “Wicked Inna Bed,” “Twice My Age” and “Mr. Lover Man,” was given the OD ( Order of Distinction) in 2016 for  his sterling contribution to music.

Ricardo Brown

Brown, owner of Allspice Recording Studio in Lancaster, Kingston 10, is not  holding back his words that music does not contribute to violence in Jamaica,  hence it should be played.

“I agree with Shabba Ranks to allow the music to play. It is their (youths) talent and way of expressing themselves. This is what they see happening in Jamaica.

Brown in a recent debate on radio, maintained his stance that music does not push anyone to commit, for example, murder.

” It was their intention from the outset such as robbery or gang violence not music.

“Music is being played all over Jamaica. Then, why is it that crime is concentrated only in certain areas in Jamaica and continues to be the trend in these hot spots for years.”

The record producer further explains that, “what is needed is for the government to start examining those factors which influence criminal activities.

“Let us, for example, look  at the level of unemployment, the lack of stable family life and the need for accountability.”

Tinu born in Kingston migrated, along with his  mother to eke out a better life in Portland. On returning to Kingston, he opened a recording studio in Lancaster   Among the artistes he has recorded is Bounty killer, Lutan Fyah, Fantan Mojah, and Cutty Ranks.

In addition, he has released “Changes” for Machine Lawd God and “Werewolf” for Richie Bangin.
