115 Haitian migrants detained near Turks & Caicos Islands, to be deported soon
PROVIDENCIALES, Turks And Caicos Islands _ Authorities in the Turks & Caicos Islands say they have detained 115 Haitian migrants aboard a boat.
The government said in a statement Tuesday that the 97 men, 18 women and three children will be deported soon.
The Turks & Caicos Islands are located between Haiti and the Bahamas and have long been a destination and smuggling route for Haitian migrants.
