Lady Saw unmoved by Macka’s rejection

Lady Saw is seemingly unmoved following news that fellow female entertainer Macka Diamond had rejected her offer to perform alongside her at this year’s staging of Reggae Sumfest.

Saw had made the offer in an interview last month, but in an article published by the STAR on Monday, Macka Diamond said she is yet to hear from Saw herself.

“Lady Saw has been directing various persons to call me to perform alongside her at Dancehall Night on Reggae Sumfest in the name of solidarity and unity, but she has yet to call me herself,” she said.

She also revealed that she believed Saw’s offer to share the stage was part of a publicity stunt to boost her performance set for Thursday.

No response

When the STAR contacted Saw, she refused to respond to Macka Diamond’s comments, stating only that she was looking forward to her performance.

“My life is too beautiful right now and I have no time for distractions,” she said.

“Right now, I am only focused on Marion.”

The entertainer is expected to make history as the first female artiste to close the show at Reggae Sumfest Dancehall Night.

In an interview with the STAR late last month, Saw said she was excited to have been selected to end the show.

“I feel very excited to be closing the show. Who best to close it, than me? A female has never closed Reggae Sumfest Dancehall Night ever, so I’m very honoured, she said. “I’m creating history. What I normally do, whenever I’ll be closing a major show, is to write new lyrics. I always come original and always energetic. I’m planning something special for Sumfest.”
