Tribute To The Late Prince Busta

Prince BusterPrince Busta was an icon who was influenced by a lot of social events like Jamaica’s Independence in 1962. A producer, artiste, social activist and personality extraordinaire Prince Busta /Buster.

“O Carolina,” “Judge Dread,”
“Wash Wash” …,” You pick mi up you lick me down, hard man fi dead” & “They got to go” were among Busta’s many hits. “Enjoy yourself and live, serve your God” was among the strong lyrics in Busta’s songs. This one “Enjoy Yourself” seems to be an all time favourite. He was a social commentator of no mean order. Busta’s commentaries were not confined to Jamaica but extended as far as India.

He was converted to Islam which is believed was influenced by Mohammad Ali, himself an icon and convert to Islam.

Prince Busta was a boxer among other things. This multi talented individual was engaged in all aspects of the music industry.

“Show me that river, take me across …” a line from “Wash Wash” by the legendary Prince Busta.

He collaborated with renowned drummer Count Ossie … that colab produced “O Carolina.”

Registered at birth as Cecil Bustamante Campbell, who died yesterday in a Miami Florida Hospital following a stroke.

Vision regrets Busta’s death and wish his family well in the future. To wife Mona and,children … we say chins up. May his soul rest in peace and life perpetual shine on him.
