Esteemed chart magazine Billboard.com has named Popcaan’s collaboration with rappers Jamie XX and Young Thug as one of the best songs for 2015, out of a list of 10 songs.

The single titled, Good Times, was recently released and is featured on Jamie XX’s independently produced album, In Colour, and sits at number 116 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

The song is yet to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. However, the effort charted at number one on the Viral Global Spotify Chart.

Other 2015 songs that made the cut for Billboard’s best songs of 2015 include Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment’s Sunday Candy, Florence and The Machine’s Ship To Wreck, The Weekend’s Can’t Feel My Face, Tame Impala’s Let It Happen, Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney’s FourFive Seconds, Years & Years’ King, Skrillex & Diplo featuring Justin Bieber Where Are Ü Now, Kacey Musgraves’ Biscuits and Fetty Wap’s Trap Queen.

Meanwhile, the success of Good Times has also drawn renewed attention to Popcaan’s 2014 album Where We Come From. The album, which had not seen Billboard Reggae top 10 success since early 2015, quickly rose to number two last week ahead of Protoje, Etana and other reggae acts. However, Where We Come From fell six places this week and now sits at Number eight on the chart. The album is now spending its 18th week on the chart.

Popcaan last tasted real Billboard success in 2012 with the single Only Man She Want that debuted at number 89 on the R&B/HipHop Billboard charts. In 2014, Billboard.com also called Popcaan ‘Dancehall’s New King’ and raised questions about whether or not he would eventually become Jamaica’s next crossover superstar.
