Canadiens beat Senators in OT 3 2, take 2 0 series lead

MONTREAL _ Alex Galchenyuk scored in overtime as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Friday to take a 2-0 series lead in their first-round matchup.

Max Pacioretty and P.K. Subban scored in regulation for the Canadiens while David Desharnais picked up an assist on each.

Clarke MacArthur and Patrick Wiercioch scored for the Senators. Mark Stone tacked on two assists.

Pacioretty returned to the lineup for the Habs after sitting out Game 1 with an upper-body injury suffered near the end of the regular season.

Montreal’s Carey Price stopped 29 of 31 shots. Ottawa’s Andrew Hammond made 37 saves.

The Canadiens went 1 for 6 on the power play while the Senators scored once on three chances with the man advantage.

Game 3 goes Sunday in Ottawa.
