CaribbeanTales and TIFF Present The Big Pitch Contestants for 2023
August 15, 2023 (Toronto, ON) – Join CaribbeanTales Media Group (CTMG) and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for The BIG Pitch on Sunday September 10, 2023, at the TIFF Bell Lightbox Luma Lounge from 8:00am – 10:30am followed by CTMG’s Red Hot Networking Mixer from 11:00am – 12:00pm.
“This is an opportunity to see and hear about potential series and film projects at their infancy stage – and it’s not an easy process,” explains CaribbeanTales Festival Director Diana Webley. “These are the best pitches presented in three minutes by12 mid-career participants from our two incubator programs. They are vying for prizes, and a deal from any of the industry folks that come to watch the competition mining for future gems.”
The BIG Pitch is the last step in the nine-month CaribbeanTales Black Incubator and Studio Access Project (CTBISAP) and the CineFam Limitless Incubator, which champions the creativity of women and non-binary people of colour. CTBISAP aims to provide comprehensive training to Black Canadian filmmakers, covering all aspects from creation to monetization.

Mentors include Founder and CEO of CaribbeanTales Media Group, Frances-Anne Solomon, Director of Engagement and Inclusion at CBC, Nick Davis, Line Producer and Production Manager Moe Rai, Award-winning Director and Producer Sudz Sutherland, and David Hamilton of Hamilton-Mehta Productions.
Both TIFF industry pass holders and the audience can vote for their favourite presentation alongside the industry judges. Big Pitch tickets available HERE . A rush line for TIFF industry pass holders will be available in person on the day of the event, space permitting.
