DJ RumBlood Goes Vershon

April 12, 2023 | By Supa Pea |

DJ RumBlood, from Seaview Gardens in Kingston, is  hoping to join the likes of Shabba Ranks and Bounty Killer who climbed the entertainment ladder becoming starlights.

The community, a well-known nursery for mining and exposing talent, is giving DJ RumBlood the support he needs to strike gold with “Good Girl” his latest project with Vershon. This, co-produced by DJ RumBlood Recordz and JDan Records was released March 26, 2023. The video was released yesterday, Tuesday April 11, 2023.

DJ RumBlood describes the song as, one which should be a talking point with both men and women.

“This is one issue which constantly dominates social media platforms. People are generally interested in the lives of others and they often don’t get the stories right. So, it is sometimes good for the artiste to use his platform to express his concerns.”

Some lines of the song reads:

“Dem cant say nothin bout yuh,

Cause they dont know nothing bout yuh

So when some gal come a scandal your name

Don’t worry cause nothin nuh true…”

Two other projects he has done with Vershon are, “The Truth” co- produced with One Family label and “Entrepreneur” ft. Tee Que, an artiste from Portmore.

DJ RumBlood born Romario Lawson, grew up around music. He could play the drums from a very early age attending Seaview Gardens Primary school.

His father, Philbert, who was then living in Birmingham, England, gave him a surprise gift of a laptop, which he used to play at sound system sessions.

As a teenager he was playing at parties and becoming known by people outside his community.

He recalled being fascinated by artistes including Dexta Daps and Vershon. RumBlood, surprisingly met Vershon at a bike shop along Hagley Park Road in Kingston. This was in 2018.

The music connection continues to blossom with “Good Girl” a song he hopes will make it to the top of the charts. The video was shot in two locations, Waterfront in Downtown Kingston and Seaview Gardens.
