KINGSTON, Jamaica _ A Jamaican policeman has been arrested and charged with murder after a video showing a fatal police shooting was circulated on social media.

The Independent Commission of Investigations probes allegations against Jamaican police. In a Monday statement, it identified the accused law enforcer as Constable Kevon Gordon.

Gordon is a patrolman in Lawrence Tavern, just outside the capital of Kingston. He is accused of killing Garfield Coburn at an outdoor party on March 6.

Residents say the officer was trying to arrest Coburn for smoking a marijuana cigarette. A video taken by a partygoer shows the officer with his service weapon out as he tries to drag him away. A gunshot is heard and officers are shown carrying Coburn’s limp body.

Jamaica‘s police commissioner called for Gordon’s arrest.
