JURY DECIDES AGAINST CADET IN LAWSUIT AGAINST PATTI LABELLE’S STAFF
HOUSTON (AP) — A former West Point cadet has lost his lawsuit against Patti LaBelle’s entourage. Richard King had said in his lawsuit that LaBelle’s bodyguard and two others attacked him without provocation while he waited for a ride outside a Houston airport in 2011. Her attorney said King yelled racial insults at LaBelle and threw the first punch at her son. A federal jury rejected King’s claims. LaBelle had been dropped from the suit early in the trial.
