July 5, 2022 | By Supa Pea |

Each year, even at this time, those who are Grammy nomination aspirers, would have already been pretty sure of the quality of their product and their chances of being nominated for a Grammy Award.

The category includes Record Album and Song of the year, Best New Artist with a new category, Best Song for Social Change, added to this year’s Grammy.  To be submitted for Grammy consideration, a recording must be entered by members of the Recording Academy, who are either Professionals or voting members of media companies like record labels and distribution companies can also register as members of the Academy and submit recordings for consideration.

The voting members of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences(NARAS), through a series of ballot, select five nominees for each award.

For an album nomination, the songs are expected to be original material and the recording at least 30 minutes with 5 or more tracks.

US- based Michael “Beatbopper” Hudgins, the executive producer of Miungu Ya Muziki 19-track album, has his eyes set on a grammy nomination this year.

“I had wanted this album to be submitted last year, but it never happened, so I am preparing fully for this year. Being nominated for a Grammy would be good and winning the Grammy a great occasion.

“The artists (on the album) have worked really hard to make this album a special one. For, it is one with so many songs to inspire people all over the world,”

The songs include Lahjihkal’s “To The Team,” Malou Sky’s “Compromise,” Tina Karol’s “Phenomenal” ft. Sean Kingston and Luca Dayz; Epixode’s “Jehovah” ft. Stonebwoy and Beatbopper’s “Jump out the Gym” ft.Gucci Mane.

“The album gives back, not only to the less fortunate, but to the fatherless.”

Hudgins has linked with Jamaican- base Just for Peace International to help and create a better life for fatherless children. The organization which started out harnessing and exposing talent in crime prone areas in Spanish Town and its environs, has won three Universal Peace Awards during its 14 year’s existence.

Hudgins will launch two more albums this year. The first, “Certified Gold” in August 2022, the other being “Dei Della Musica” in September.
