Earlier in the day, San Francisco edged Washington 3-2 to open their National League Division Series. St. Louis is up 1-0 on the Dodgers in the other N-L series after beating L-A 10-9. Baltimore opened the day’s games with a 7-6 win over Detroit in the A-L. The Orioles now lead the Tigers 2-0.
