Shinehead Set to Sizzle on Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise

As Shinehead wrapped his intense rehearsals with Ruff Kutt band in Kingston, Jamaica this past weekend, the international star said fans aboard the 8th Annual Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise should expect the unexpected at his performance slated for Thursday, December 7.

Since the launch of the popular Reggae themed cruise by Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, Shinehead and his Kingston 12 Hi Fi sound system, with partner DJ Papalotl, have been entertaining cruisers. They even got chances to see the legendary act on deck during some memorable performances. But this year, fans are buzzin’, as they eagerly await the multihyphenate’s main stage take over with the renowned Ruff Kutt band.

There’s never a dull moment for the vibrant entertainer, who took his captivating brand of Reggae, Hip Hop, Dancehall and R&B music to worldwide audiences with hit records like “Jamaican in New York,” “Strive,” “Golden Touch,” “Olivia,” “Chain Gang,” “Rough and Rugged,” and more! As Shinehead boasts such a diverse music catalogue, cruisers are in for quite the musical treat. The musician also dropped some amazing Reggae gems during the pandemic, including “Never Had a Dream Come True” and “The Makings of You.”

The Thursday night performance is not all that’s in store, as Shinehead and Kingston 12 Hi Fi will be playing regularly on the popular Jamrock Radio and at special events. There will also be an opportunity for revelers to meet Shinehead at a “Meet and Greet.”

This year, Shinehead has been celebrating the 30th Anniversary of his cultural anthem “Jamaican in New York.” Other music milestones in 2023, include the 35th Anniversary of his debut album “Unity” and naturally, Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary. The music phenom played a significant role in taking the hybrid sounds of Hip Hop, Reggae and Dancehall to a global audience.

The 8th annual Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise sets sail on the Caribbean sea, alongside the most world-renowned Reggae talent, December 04-09, 2023, from Miami, Florida to Jamaica. The festival-cruise offers 5-epic nights of extraordinary live music, authentic Jamaican cuisine, sunrise drumming meditations, fitness and sunshine, with round-the-clock entertainment.
