TD JerkFest Toronto Announces Soca Star Farmer Nappy as Headliner

Toronto, ON – As the summer heat begins to rise, so does the anticipation for one of the city’s most vibrant and eagerly awaited events: the TD JerkFest. Set against the backdrop of Centennial Park in Etobicoke, this year’s festival promises to be a spectacle of Caribbean culture, culinary delights, and world-class entertainment.

Announcing its lineup of headliners, TD JerkFest 2024 brings together an eclectic mix of musical talents, both seasoned and emerging. Leading the charge is Trinidadian soca sensation, Farmer Nappy, whose infectious rhythms and groovy flows have captivated audiences worldwide for over three decades. Joining him on stage are dancehall sensation Masicka and reggae royalty Marcia Griffiths, promising unforgettable performances that will have attendees dancing well into the night.

But the festivities don’t stop there. TD JerkFest is also a celebration of Caribbean cuisine, with food demonstrations by renowned chefs Leon Rowe and Nicole King. From mouthwatering jerk chicken to flavorful rice and peas, attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in authentic Caribbean flavors while learning the art of Caribbean cooking from the experts themselves.

In addition to the music and food, TD JerkFest is proud to host the “Show Your Flow” competition, in partnership with Flow 98.7. With categories ranging from hip hop to reggae, local artists will have the chance to showcase their talents on the festival stage, with cash prizes awaiting the finalists.

Speaking on behalf of Caribbean Promotions Arts and Culture Inc., Founder and Executive Director Anthony Plummer expressed his excitement for this year’s event. “TD JerkFest is more than just a festival; it’s a celebration of Caribbean culture and community,” said Plummer. “We’re thrilled to bring together talented artists, renowned chefs, and food enthusiasts from across Toronto to celebrate our rich heritage.”
