University of Missouri Is Offering A Class On Jay Z And Kanye West
Looks like Jay-Z and Kanye West are taking us back to school. Literally.
University of Missouri, is offering a class on their iconic relationship next fall as part of an English course dedicated to uncovering the dynamics of their relationship. The class will uncover three perspectives:
1) How do they fit within, and how do they change, the history of hip-hop music?
2) How does their rise to both celebrity and corporate power alter what we understand as the American Dream
3) how does their rise to both celebrity and corporate power alter what we understand as the American Dream?
Some course materials include “Jay-Z’s Decoded, histories of and and works on rap music by Jeff Chang and Adam Bradley.
