Vonglobe Crocs and Clarkes For Summer

Well known Spanish Town entertainer, Vonglobe, is promoting his latest song, Crocs and Clarkes. This, a summer song, is generating a lot of traction, not only in Spanish Town, but surrounding communities.

According to Vonglobe, born Devon Williams, “I recorded this song because Clarkes is still the favoured shoe wear for men and Crocs another shoe wear is just about everywhere one goes these days. I just couldn’t think of a better topic for summer.

“People just feel comfortable in Crocs. Then, whenever one thinks of summer this includes all the fun one can have on the beach, at party and even window shopping.

“This year, I sat and some clever idea came to my mind which is to do something different. I actually began with the chorus of the song, which includes:

“Gal a wear crocs, bad man wear Clarkes

Socks and slippers pon di sand fi di summer

Man a drink Johnny Walker and tun over

Pour it inna mi cup until it flow right over…”

The song has three verse with the lyrics surrounding summer, like clubs and parties; the excitement of preparing and travelling for events.

Vonglobe has been performing the song at several outdoor events, including Spice Thursday at Hellshire Beach, Portmore.

The promoter, Psychic intention is to attract more patrons and to give youths more opportunities to display their talent.

Vonglobe who attended Spanish Town High school showed much interest in popular entertainment events, such as parties and stage shows as a teenager.

“My mother would be singing, while doing her daily chores. Dad was a fan of Elvis Presley. I took music very serious having entered and placed second in a talent Contest.

He has been involved in several projects, receiving wide publicity, such as co-ordinator of the Just for Peace School Tour which has received the Governor of Jamaica General Sir Patrick Allen commendation letter for promoting, Peace, Unity and Discipline in schools.

Other songs he has released include “Love is the Game” and “So Sick of Gunshot.”
