Yeezus Hits The Platinum Mark
Another plaque to add to the collection
Kanye West’s latest effort, Yeezus, has officially hit the platinum mark. As of January 8, 1 million albums have been sold, making Yeezus West’s seventh platinum album.
“Congratulations to @kanyewest on his 7th @RIAA #Platinum album award for ‘Yeezus’ – he’s 7 for 7! W @DefJamRecords,” tweeted the Recording Industry Association of America.
Since its leak last June, music enthusiasts have unabashedly voiced their opinions about Yeezus, and it has proven to be West’s most controversial album to date. However, the negative reception did not stop it from debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
