10th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference Invites Jamaicans Abroad for Transformational Gathering

Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Hon. Alando Terrelonge, extends a warm invitation to Jamaicans overseas to participate in the upcoming conference slated for June 16 to 19.

Jamaicans across the globe are being beckoned to a transformative gathering as the 10th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference sets its stage for June 16 to 19. In a virtual ceremony held on Saturday (March 23) to honor Jamaican pioneers in Atlanta, Georgia, Hon. Alando Terrelonge, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, emphasized the significance of this event.

Themed ‘United for Jamaica’s transformation: fostering peace, productivity, and youth empowerment’, the conference is scheduled to unfold at the Montego Bay Convention Centre. Mr. Terrelonge, entrusted with diaspora affairs, shared insights into the rich program awaiting attendees. From health to tourism, sports, security, and productivity, the agenda promises an engaging exploration of topics vital to Jamaica’s advancement.

In addition to substantive discussions, the conference will showcase Jamaica’s vibrant culture through cultural expositions and musical performances. Importantly, attendees will have access to vital government services, including passport processing, birth certificates, citizenship documents, property tax payments, and business registration.

A highlight of the conference will be the Governor-General’s Achievement Awards for the Diaspora, recognizing outstanding contributions made by individuals in their respective communities. Nominations for these accolades are open until March 31, emphasizing the government’s commitment to celebrating diaspora achievements.

For those eager to participate, vital information regarding registration, accommodation, and airline rates will be unveiled during the Global Launch of the Conference, scheduled for April 4, 2024, at the Ministry’s Headquarters in downtown Kingston.
