Road Works In Top Gear

April 29, 2020 | By Hopeton O’Connor-Dennie |

The Andrew Holness administration has not put the development of the country’s infrastructure on hold as it fights the COVID-19 pandemic. Work crews were seen laying asphalt yesterday on Mannings Hill Road opposite Midway Mall in the constituency of Acting Education Minister, Hon. Karl Samuda the MP for North Central St. Andrew.

Perspective:

This action is taking place despite the public announcement by PM Andrew Holness that he will not call an election during a State Of Emergency. How considerate Hon. Andrew Michael Holness, you are such a gentleman. This is where you and PM Michael Manley part company … for in 1976 there was no such gentleman behaviour. There was a State Of Emergency and an election was called. The PNP retained power. Manley was a politician who saw seeking power and holding on to same was his only desire. That is what politicians do. Without power you are nobody in politics. Trust me.

This is our perspective, feel free to disagree.

COVID 19 Pandemic

We have only had 7 deaths so far and 300 plus confirmed C19 cases. In relative terms the virus is under control in Jamaica W.I., with a population of approximately 3 million persons. The health authorities have been very proactive
from day one … they stepped outside the blocks running.

Hopeton O’Connor-Dennie SIC was on location to observe the work and filed this story with pictures for Vision Newspaper Canada.
