Meet Ravouy Edwards, Entertainment Photographer

If you are looking for a photographer who will give you what you had bargained for, and more, then you may have to find your way through the hustle and bustle to Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, where he lives. Or, maybe you can find Islandpix the name of his company.
But, when you do get to him, don’t complain; it would have been worth every ounce of patience and determination. Ravouy is a photographer of choice, since meeting artiste Bittah Sosicka, given name Peter Cole. That meeting had Ravouy- a Jamaican born, shooting scenes from the music video, “Living Testament.”
“The meeting cemented a long-lasting business relationship with RedSquare conglomerates, and the opening of several other doors for me to launch out my business outside the United States.
“I have met this fabulous fashion designer, A’ Legends, and most recently several others, including dancehall artiste Ikeya who had me doing shoots for her music video ‘ Cat Ina Di Back A Di Yard’ her new single.
Ravouy Edwards also met Clive Williams, founder of ” Where It’s At Magazine.”
According to Ravouy,” he too was impressed with my works and wanted me to do photos for his magazine. My first was the opening of a wholesale promotion on Merrick Boulevard, Queens,New York. This assignment is likely to lead to several others.”
This does not remove Ravouy from the eyes of those who want him to do their wedding and party events.
As a community person, known for his benevolent deeds, Ravouy is planning to team up with Wave Preparatory Elementary school where his son Ravouy Jr. attends.
“Photography is a lucrative business. I should be starting soon in teaching them all aspect of the camera, and techniques in getting the best image from a shoot.”
He is also considering teaching photography to the disabled.
“It can be challenging, but I also consider helping these people. They are the ones who are most likely to appreciate your service.”
Ravouy was born in Kingston and began early education at St. Richards Primary in that same parish. He migrated in 1997 at aged 10 to stay with his grandmother ,Tasphyr Byfield, who lived in New York.
“Having gained a number of certificates, it was by chance I took up photography. I borrowed a camera from a cousin and started taking fun-loving pictures for friends. Then, found out I could
make a decent money. I started with my own Sony camera and is able to earn, while contributing to the future of others.
