July 31, 2023 | By Supa Pea |

US record producer Michael “Beatbopper” Hudgins, is hailing reggae Sumfest 2023 a success, despite a few hitches.

Hudgins, who watched the show on-line is complimenting the production team for a job well done.

“I wasn’t able to be in Jamaica, but I never – the -less enjoyed the wide selection of  artists. It goes to show that reggae music is still a standard bearer, no matter the criticisms.”

A number of artistes who impressed Beatbopper were Morgan Heritage, Freddie McGregor, Minister Marion Hall and Lt. Stitchie.

“How could I leave out Kabaka Pyramid, who was featured on my Miungu Ya Muziki album, which not only went #1 in the Caribbean, but as far reaching as Ukraine.”

Beatbopper, who has been a record producer for over 10 years, says he feels that a collaboration with Sumfest producers would reap benefits for both parties.

“I have a slate of talented artiste I am grooming to hit the stage soon. They are serious with songs which will energize and motivate the masses at not only Reggae Sumfest, but other shows including Rebel Salute.

This, would  definitely increase the number of tourists coming to Jamaica with earnings from Reggae Sumfest improving.

I would also like to use that platform to present peace awards which will strengthen both brands.

Beatbopper has been sponsoring Jamaica children, including the fatherless, for the past two days.

He is now putting the final touches to a Just for Peace International album.
