A big buzz is anticipated when Spragga Benz appears on this year’s Sumfest show set for Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex July 18 to 23, 2022. The deejay, born Carlton Grant, will be performing on Madhouse Tribute to Dave Kelly, July 23.

Already, the momentum is evident in the streets with a number of sound system rinsing his earlier 90’s dancehall anthems, such as “She Nuh Ready Yet” and “Fun Ting.”

In terms of social media, the deejay’s controversial song “Vaccinated,” which came under fire, is still being hailed as, “a voice for the voiceless.”

The international media, mainly in Canada, Africa  and the  USA, captivated by his talent and quality of music, have been keeping a close eye on his new movie, Second Chance, which plots a journey of changing lives.

Asked about this year’s Sumfest, the deejay says,

“The fact that Sumfest will include Madhouse Tribute to Dave Kelly, of which I am associated, speaks volume to say the least.”

“This (Madhouse Production) is part of my foundation in music; the production of songs like “Tings A Gwaan,” “Girl Watchers “and “Wi Nuh Like.”

“All of my friends will be sharing the same stage, including Bounty Killer, Frisco Kid and Wayne Wonder. “

The deejay explains that his last appearance on Sumfest 2019 was memorable, but warned that on each successive show he tries to be more impressive.

“Come out in your numbers and support everyone. I will be doing songs like Wi Nuh Like and Machine Gun Kelly.”

Activities for Sumfest includes an All White Blitz Party, A Sound System Explosion Beach Party and the main concerts.
