Fi Wi Nyam Yam Jam Talent Contest; Applications Opening Soon

The organizers of Fi Wi Nyam Yam Jam Fest, is giving three hopefuls the opportunity to perform on its big stage at Lichfield Playfield, in Trelawny, Jamaica on April 1st, 2024.

“This spectacular day and night event will incorporate Trelawny’s yams and drink exhibition, fun and games, and an exposure of the best cultural talent, according to promoter, Michael Newman.

“The Fi Wi Nyam Yam Jam Talent contest opens in January 2024, when one can apply. Application forms will be available at designated stores in the Litchfield community.

“To enter one must not be a recording artiste who is well-known, as this contest is for amateurs. Lyrical content must not be explicit, promoting violence, illegal guns or illicit drugs.

“In fact, the theme of the contest must incorporate the words, Fi Wi Nyam Yam Jam Fest, and one which will help to promote the festival.

“There will be four audition shows in which three persons will be selected from each audition for the finals.

“Persons can enter as often as they wish, once they were not selected among the top positions of an audition.”

Twelve finalist will square off for one of three spots and attractive prizes, one of which is to perform on the night of the festival.

The Fi Wi Nyam Yam Jam Fest is to bridge the gap left by the now Trelawny Yam Fest, which has relocated elsewhere.

“We needed to answer the calls from several farmers who want the festival back in Litchfield community.

“Our event is expected to attract both adults and children with an array of activities, with over 50 competitions including Yam Eating, Pepsi and Beer Drinking competitions.”
