Mavado, I-Octane, Jah Cure for Cream of the crop on December 28

Reggae fans in Ocho Rios are salivating over an upcoming show called Cream of the Crop which will showcase a smorgasbord of the best reggae talent on show in Jamaica spread out at the Ocho Rios Cruise Ship Pier on December 28.

By all indications, it will be a Christmas treat to remember.

The show will feature reggae heavyweights such as Mavado, I-Octane, Jah Cure, Chronixx and the Zinc Fence Redemption band, as well as rising stars such as Jah Bouks, Iba Mahr, Nature, Kabaki Pyramid, Kelisa, and Kezmandi.The Ruff Kut band will back most of the artistes.

The show is being organised by PurpleSkunkEntertainmentz.

“We’ve always had the idea to do a classy reggae show, you know, a siddown show without seat where one can expect the best possible performances, best setting, best possible bands, and best production in terms of sound and lighting. Cream of the Crop is a truly classy event and that is why we chose the Ocho Rios Cruise Ship Pier,” a public relations officer of PurpleSkunkEntertainmentz said in a release.

The live show promises new levels of production that will ensure the patron an experience equal to nothing ever delivered in Jamaica.

“The concept of the show is to do an annual event that will showcase the top 10 artistes in terms of established superstars, emerging talent, and musicians. We will produce a show that artistes, sponsors, and patrons will look forward to every year and will entice everyone, artistes included, to come with their best game,” he said.

Mavado, who is now signed to DJ Khaled’s We the Best Music Group, has been generating a lot of attention stateside with his collaboration Give It All to Me, featuring Nicki Minaj, which jumped on the playlists of major urban radio stations in the USA. In the meantime, dancehall firebrand I-Octane has remained one of the most consistent artistes over the past three years, and he has kept up his fantastic pace with great singles such asHappy Time and Wine and Jiggle. Jah Cure is an international superstar who sells out shows all over the world with his monster reggae ballads.
