Commentary

As you may be aware there has been a rocky relationship between Trinidad & Tobago due to deportation or detention of Jamaicans at their port of entry.

Jamaican nationals have been held in “sub standard conditions” based on reports from detainees.

This conduct is considered to be a violation of the no hassle entry as a Caribbean national to another Caribbean Island.

Dr. Keith Rowley, PM of Trinidad & Tobago plans to visit Jamaica in July to try to smooth out any kinks in our relationship as Caribbean governments.

We wish Minister Bartlett a safe trip and joins with Jamaica and others to express our sympathy at the death of their former two time PM Patrick Manning 69.
