Ratings: Out and Blazing

Ratings, a song done by Jamaican-Canadian Trueace and J Stvrr and Jamaican Rani Rastaciti is out and blazing. This, released Friday July 21, 2023.
Within 24 hours listeners- not only in Canada and the Caribbean, were hailing the song as, a masterpiece. And, the trio agrees.
In an interview with Vision Newspaper words from the group are that, the release of Ratings is monumental in their lives.
“The song is about the struggles, the fight and barriers that we face and have endure in our day-to-day lives.
“In today’s society, it is very easy to lose focus, give up on our dreams, run with negative and become very dependable which can take a toll on our mental and emotional well- being.
However, with a song like Ratings, it encourages you to stay focus, strive to be the best version of yourself.
“Our team has worked extremely hard to create a song that’s both uplifting and aspiring. We are confident that this song will resonate well with listeners of all ages”.
Dubbed as the new faces of Toronto Dancehall Music, the group ensures that they produced a masterpiece.
The intro is appropriately done by the group. This is a signpost of unity introduced with the words “One Flames, Rastaciti Gorillaz wi outside.”
Trueace makes a big deal with words from verse one including:
“Mi nuh need dem love
Mi a strive fi di riches like a Elon Musk
Mi nuh rush di process
Inna God I trust…”
Rani Rastaciti brings into play the lines:
“Father God, wi affi thank you
Cause our journey never pretty
Every little thing dem forward
Pon di city fi wi…”
The reality is described by J Stvrr with lines:
“Inna di ghetto gritty
And dem nuh show pity
Careful who you trust enuh
Dem streets yah nuh pretty…”
The song was harmonized by Canadian songstress Shandiva.
Ratings is written by Alec “Trueace” Smith; Jowayne “J Stvrr” James and Shirquan “Rani Rastaciti” Harrison.
