The event, which highlights stalwarts in Reggae and Dub music, will see the likes of Junior Cat, Josey Wales, Singer J, Admiral Tibbet, Professor Nutz, Nitty Kutchie, Terry Ganzie, I-Wayne, Capleton and more perform on stage at Catherine Hall stadium on labour day weekend.

Organized by well-known dub plate guru and promoter for Original Dancehall Thursdays, Oniel Famous alongside his overseas partners Garth Nature Muzik; Turn Me Loose spawned out of the love for the dub school era and Oniel Famous’ respect for those artistes who he believes still bring joy to dancehall and reggae lovers worldwide.

.”I grew up listening to hits from great reggae pioneers and dub giants and I believe there is a place for them even now. Original Dancehall Thursdays gives them a platform but I wanted to give these acts a bigger stage to entertain their fans, I’m glad Garth saw the potential and came on board,” Oniel Famous explained

At last Thursday launch, hosted by veteran broadcaster Deon Mattis, some of the acts on the May 20 lineup were on site to give patrons a taste of what they will bring to the event, culminating with a dub style performance from the fireman himself Capleton.

Montego Bay is a great city for this event because it gives both local residents and overseas visitors the opportunity to enjoy the great pioneers in Jamaican music, there is a void and we are filling that void with Turn me Loose,” Oniel added

The event will be looking at additional stagings locally and overseas with the intent on growing the culture and the nation in general.
