Jamaican singer Tessanne Chin continues to make the rounds on the US television networks.

Chin, who made it into the top 5 of the NBC talent show, The Voice, on Tuesday, was guest on Fox affilliate KTTV yesterday.

Good Day LA’s host Steve Edwards asked the Hide Away singer what made her choose Adam Levine as her coach.

“I always knew I wanted Adam because he is a musical chameleon,” Chin said.

The host asked her about her roots in reggae and reliance on it throughout the competition.

“I have a huge amount of respect for reggae music. It’s in my blood… I grew up listening to music. I listen to people like Whitney Houston and people like Celine Dion, so it’s not that I don’t have a huge amount of respect for where I am coming from, but that’s what I want to do,” she said.

Co-host Araksya Karapetyan then added: “…You can do everything.”

Edwards said he has seen her family’s support and that she was meant to be singing.

“This is your life,” he said.

Chin then lauded the efforts of The Voice for being very accommodating and considerate for the inclusion of the family members of the contestants.

Chin also appeared on KTLA 5 in Los Angeles last week.
