Association Of Black Conservatives – Ontario Launch : This Is Black History

On Friday February 21st, 2019 History was made inside the The Albany Club, As the Association Of Black Conservatives was launched.

The evening commenced with opening remarks from the host – Kimberlee Shelley-Ajibolade(Vice President of Communications ABC-Ontario), followed by comments from Richard Tattersall( Board of Directors – The Albany Club) who welcomed welcomed everyone to the Albany and expressed that the Albany was happy to host us and congratulated the organizers on the launch. He also presented the guest of honor (Minister Kaycee Madu) with the stamp of Lincoln Alexander. Ako Ufodike (President , ABC-Alberta) then gave remarks,  announced the board and Introduced Hon Kaycee Madu who inaugurated the esteemed board of directors

Minister Madu Also read remarks from Leader of the Ontario PC Caucus, Hon Doug Ford and Hon Prabmeet Sarkaria (MPP Brampton South) who both sent congratulatory certificates to recognize the  Association’s launch. Madu then gave a very powerful and motivation keynote address. The Minister mentioned reminded those in the room that the Conservative Party is one of many firsts, the party of Lincoln Alexander, first Black to be elected to Parliament  and that the party is for a strong economy that provides an opportunity for everyone. He continued by encouraging the crowd saying “the time for political Unity has come”, we have the smarts, the numbers and the capacity and that there is no reason why every electoral cycle we (members of the black community) shouldn’t have candidates represented, to highlight a few points.

Garnet Manning then his first remarks as newly appointed president, followed by Frances Bradshaw who gave closing remarks.

So what is The Association Of Black Conservatives (ABC)?

The association of black conservatives is an initiative to harness the numbers of black conservatives across Canada . The purpose of the organization will be to:

1. Promote Conservative value and Civic Engagement in the Black Community

2. Raise the social, economic, and educational standards of Black Canadians

3. Be the pre-eminent organization for representing the Black diaspora in Canada

4. Recognize success in the Black community in Canada

Ontario is the first Chapter to launch, Alberta will officially launch next week, and the goal is to raise up chapters right across Canada.
