COOL C GRANTED STAY OF EXECUTION

PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ A Philadelphia judge has granted an emergency stay of execution for Cool C. WCAU-TV reports Cool C was scheduled to be executed by lethal injection yesterday. He was convicted of the October 1996 murder of Philadelphia Police Officer Lauretha Vaird during a bank robbery. It’s his second stay of execution, with the first coming in 2006. Cool C had two rap hits, “Glamorous Life” in 1989 and “Life in the Ghetto” in 1990.
