Social Media
Social media sources are a buzz to see that the mighty has fallen. The Gleaner is over 150 years old. This is no back street or just come media source. It is one of the biggest and longest continuously publishing houses in the Western Hemisphere. Many media sources have come and died and the Old Lady of North Street, as she is locally called, has survived them all. The Gleaner has nine lives.
Commentary
This is a not too subtle reminder to us all that we have to take copyright seriously. On my part I have never failed to educate my colleagues on the vexed issue of copyright material. Let us use the fall of the Gleaner’s Twitter Account as a warning to all of us. A word of warning is good enough to the wise.
Enough said!
