Despite Dreaded Variant Of COVID-19 In UK

“Minister Tufton has said that he has not bowed to pressure from the Tourists Sectors to open border.  The high vaccination rate in the United Kingdom with some 34 million people vaccinated was one of the main factors for our decision to open our border to UK residents.”

Background

35 million of those living in the UK can soon potentially be travelling to  Jamaica from England and Whales as the UK has one of the highest levels of vaccination in the world.  These are hard facts.

Tourism Interests

There has been considerable pressure being brought to bear on the Jamaican Government to free up the border.  UK is a big market for Jamaica.

Commentary

We must be realistic and face facts.  We cannot recover without income.  It is a balancing act.  All factors must be taken into consideration. The science and not emotion must call the shots.

Vaccinated

The visitors from overseas, including  the UK will have to be vaccinated.  There are still safeguards in place. So we should not panic. Trust the Ministry of Health & Wellness to do the right thing. They are experts and have a great track record.
