Shabako: The Face of Pure Talent

You may have seen him on Popcaan’s Unruly Fest last December, 2023; met him at some recording studio and keep wondering. That would be so true if you have any idea of Pure Class.

For me, Shabako is the Face of Pure Talent.

Tired of hearing the same old tune and need a breath of fresh air, you couldn’t find a better person than Shabako.

Now, even if you are a thousand miles away, one trickle of his vocals will whet your appetite with first class music. And, when he breaks, the memories keep ringing in your ears.

Talk about substance and Shabako has it locked. Talk about impact and you are forced to cry out for more.

So, what is so special about Shabako.

The girls will tell you, it’s more than just good looks; it is the music which won’t go away.

“I grew up with problems, like any average youth in most rural communities, hoping for some miracle to happen soon. And, when the journey seems unbearable, there is that feeling to give up. But, you know something. There is a five letter world call FAITH. And, believe me, Faith, along with hard work and determination, can move mountains.”

The Spanish Town born Shabako who spent most of his early life in Darliston, Westmoreland, was raised by his grandmother.

“Grandma believed in God, and she wanted me to believe that hardships were not meant to be constant, because prayers could transform failures into successes.”

This led to the recording of Faith, a powerful song which comes from the bowels of his experiences.

“Faith is my breakthrough song based on my personal experiences.

The song was released in November 2021 enhanced by a music video on December 12th, which coincided with my birthday that same time.

“Another song, ‘Burdens’, also deals with life experiences and one which has resonated well with my thousand of fans,” Shabako shares.

Born Dwayne Stewart, the singjay, now living in St. Thomas, has released some ten songs including ‘Prayer’, ‘Faith’, ‘Survivor’, ‘Cold World’, ‘Success Street’, ‘Fight the Fight’, ‘Born for This’, ‘Tension’ and ‘Burden’.

One of his most memorable experience is performing on Popcaan’s Uruly Fest, December, 2023.
