St. Mary Parish Under Curfew

Sections of a rural banana parish of St. Mary, Jamaica W.I. are under curfew. Dover, Annotto Bay, Enfield and Aeteborial to name a few of the major areas in the agricultural parish, in Southeast section of this noted parish.

COVID-19

Ten persons confirmed as having contracted the Covid-19 Virus. Social conditions make the spread easy. Dr. Patrick Whitely, of North East Regional Health Authority, of the Ministry of Health said “it is clear that there has been a problem in the area in at least 3 areas of St. Mary”.
These areas are Dover, Annotto Bay and Enfield, (in St. Mary).

Update

To date there has been 224 confirmed cases from one (work place) a Call Centre, in St Catherine, 26 being investigated, 56 have survived, 447 confirmed and 56 in isolation. Nine persons have died.

The curfew is for 14 days as of May 7.
