As we are trying to come to grips with the loss of Prince … Alas! We got news of the sudden passing of yet another superstar in the person of Papa Wemba.

For 5 decades this African artiste, musician, Rumba dancer entertained many. He is Congolese by birth who made albums like: Maitre D’ e’cole in 2014, Noulle Ecriture 1997, and Notre pe’re Rumba.

Registered at birth Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba aka Papa Wemba was born 14 June 1949 and died 24 April 2016 age 66 at Abidjan in the Ivory Coast.

He collapsed on stage while performing … he was commonly referred to as Africa’s ‘King of Rumba Rock’, He cause of death is not immediately known.
