Artiste believes ‘bad mind’ people removed his account

Dancehall artiste Konshens was in for a surprise yesterday morning after finding out that his official Instagram page, @konshenssojah, was no longer accessible.

The page, which had 142,000 followers, had disappeared. He took to Twitter to vent his disappointment.

“Woke up … Instagram GONE!! Don’t know why … Who knows anyway … if it wasn’t for the fans, I’d say …. it. Whoever did this has alotta hate and time on their hands,” he posted.

A broadcast was also sent out, seemingly from Konshens, with the information for his new account.

“Di bwoy dem hack me Instagram and delete it … Hate and bad mind is very real. Did a go loww Instagram ting, but fans a cuss. So, if you wanna find me in Instagram it’s @konshensagain. Real fans and links only please. Mi really prefer 10 fans than 142k whe mi nuh sure bout. Nuff luv.”

Efforts to get a comment from Konshens were unsuccessful.

However, he is not the first artiste to have his social media page hacked. In 2014, Lady Saw had to close her verified Twitter page, as unscrupulous persons had changed the password without her knowledge.

Selector-turned-artiste Tony Matterhorn had his Instagram page flagged and deleted several times because of his ‘After Dark’ programme.

Recently, reggae singer Etana had her Facebook hacked, with her over 500,000 fans being exposed to nudity and graphic sex acts.
