CDB TO BUILD RESILIENT ECONOMIES TO BENEFIT PEOPLE
June 28, 2022 | By Colin O. Jarrett |
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) says the institution’s governors must create avenues and opportunities to build resilient economies to benefit the region’s people amidst a number of crises.
Chairman of the organization and Prime Minister of St Lucia Phillip J Pierre, who was speaking at a closing ceremony of the CDB’s 52nd annual meeting says the crises are due to the lingering negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, the Russia-Ukraine war, imported inflation and structural deficiencies in Caribbean economies.
He said, if the situation is not halted, it can have the capability of increasing poverty and despair.
