COOL C EXECUTION DATE SET

PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania’s governor has set January 8 as the execution date for Cool C.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Cool C was convicted of first-degree murder and robbery during a bank holdup on January 2, 1996.

Philadelphia police officer Lauretha Vaird was shot and killed.

Cool C has maintained he’s innocent.

He had two rap hits, “Glamorous Life” in 1989 and “Life in the Ghetto” in 1990.
