This year, Canadian label Konsequence Muzik made its mark in the reggae industry with the release of the “True Colours” riddim. Adding to their success the enterprising label has continued releasing singles from upcoming and prominent artists as they gear up for the New Year.
“In a market where we continue to hear that production quality is lacking it was a pleasant surprise to find out Konsquence Muzik is a Canadian based company. They have raised the bar with the True Colours Riddim.” said Carrie Mullings from Toronto’s VIBE105 FM.
Recently the label released a new track from the crowned dancehall diva, “Lady Saw”. The early buzz is that “Lay On Your Body” is destined to be the follow up hit to “Heels On”. It was also mentioned on the labels Instagram that we are to be expecting a new single with Gyptian.
“We are happy about our growth, True Colours riddim has been topping charts in the U.K with Jahmiel’s song from the riddim also being a chart topper across the globe.” said Tristmar, owner of Konsequence Muzik Group.
Tristmar continues to speak a little bit of what to expect for the New Year,
“We have a lot of upcoming projects for the upcoming year and have shifted a bit of our focus to the Canadian Market. We hope to work with a lot more Canadian talents and blend the both of best worlds together.”
With 2016 looking promising the label promises to deliver more great projects enjoyable to music fans around the world representing the Jamaican music scene in Canada. Konsequence Muzik owner Tristmar Peart aims to release more varied hits inspired by the landscape and music culture which surrounds him in Canada. The label will continue releasing reggae/dancehall compilations.
More About Konsequence Muzik Group
Konsequence Muzik is a promising label hailing from the booming city of Calgary in western Canada. The team made another step internationally, recently opening the doors to their new studio in Jamaica.
Peart entered the business with one initial thought, to become a success. His career started in 2008 with the start of a Sound System under the same name, but he explains that he has been involved in music since the early 2000’s starting the evolution of his career by building his collection of Riddims and becoming an event promoter.
It was in 2012 that the sound system Konsequence evolved into more and became Konsequence Muzik Group with his first music compilation being released in 2013 entitled “Kurfew Riddim”. Having always been interested in the production side of the business, Tristmar explains that his inspiration came from curiosity; he wanted to know the production process, starting from the building of the beat and how it became the final product. Of course having his own Sound System helped develop both his love and interest for music on a larger scale.
In 2015, their “True Colours” riddim put them on the map with the lead single by the upcoming sensation Jahmiel hitting the airwaves across the world, which then lead the riddim to also get its recognition.
Since their first release in 2013 Konsequence has already worked with a variety of international artists in the reggae industry such as Beenie Man, Lady Saw, I Octane, Konshens, Mavado, Khago, New Kidz, Future Fambo, and Gyptian, while collaborating with upcoming artists including label artist Starface.
Konsequence Muzik aims to separate their work from other producers by offering difference and diversity with their music, utilizing various genres to help enhance Canada’s and Jamaica’s music market.
