FORT-DE-FRANCE, Martinique _ Authorities in the French Caribbean island of Martinique say they have seized more than a ton of marijuana at sea.
The government said in a statement Saturday that the drug was being transported by a go-fast boat headed to the nearby island of Guadeloupe.
Officials said five people aboard the boat began throwing the drugs overboard when authorities began to follow it.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was arrested.
