RastaFest Set For August 17 -19

2023 marks the 30th anniversary of Rastafest reggae festival. In recognition of this milestone, the festival will be staged from August 17th, 2023 to August 19th, 2023 in Little  Jamaica.  

Rastafest is Canada’s largest celebration of Rastafari heritage and culture. The festival is a free, multi-disciplined, family fun event highlighting different aspects of the Rastafari  and reggae culture. The festival draws from the rich and diverse Rastafari lifestyle,  culture, and history. The activities include health and wellness workshops on August 17th at Nia Centre for the Arts, 524 Oakwood Avenue; sound system edition on Friday, August  18th at Reggae Lane parking lot, 1531 Eglinton Avenue West; family, fun activities,  ancestral drumming, arts/crafts marketplace and live concert on Saturday, August 19th at  Green P parking lot (Eglinton Avenue west & Dufferin Street). Artists include Sativa D  Black 1 (from Jamaica), Juno winner Korexion, Polly Pumpie, Donna Makeda, Empress  Divine, Jade Faith Richie Flo and Elle Trema. 

Rastafest is sponsored by Canadian Heritage, City of Toronto, Toronto Arts Council, York  Eglinton BIA, TTC, Studio M, Rootz Reggae radio and First Friday. The festival is  produced by Rastafest Inc, Masani Productions Inc and the Canadian Reggae Music  Association.
